Inspired by real Toronto teens and the city's headlines, Guns & Roses is a fast-paced, honest look into the lives of these teens and the often too-secret world they inhabit. Rather than sentimentalizing or sugar-coating the high school experience, Guns & Roses uses authentic dialogue and situations to portray the lives of five teenagers - this is not a finger waving after school special. You will not hear the words "Just say no" and it is not about "bad kids" pressuring "good kids", it's about taking a real look at their pressures and reality- drug use and abuse, sexuality, violence at school and at home, racism, cultural frictions and that’s to start. Focusing on teens from Toronto's neighbourhoods, the show also incorporates a live DJ (Toronto's very own DJ FASE, rated the city's top club DJ by NOW Magazine) and projected text messaging, creating a vibrant, kinetic production.

SPONSORS, 3 WAYS TO HELP!
The creators of the show are hoping on community support to get students from Toronto’s lower income areas to the show, which is after all, about them. A September report released by Social Planning Toronto says that the top 20 wealthiest public schools in Toronto brought in almost $250,000 each over three years, and the neediest 20 schools less than $7,000 each. Their report also found that, mostly through fees, the top 20 high schools brought in a whopping 920 times more money than the bottom 20 — $33,653 compared to $36.56. Based on this report we are asking community businesses, corporations and individuals to sponsor a school to see the show. $300 for example could sponsor a classroom to attend a live theatrical performance, participate in an open Q&A with the actors and creators – an opportunity that students from these schools are at serious risk of missing.
